I studied journalism but my career background is mostly in hospitality. I love football (soccer) and I am a supporter of Edinburgh Club Heart of Midlothian. I have got in to AFL since becoming an Aussie - the Demons are my favourite team. My other interests include food, wine and reading.

Today I have been to a rally to close the off shore detention camps in Nauru and Manus. Then I went for lunch with my partner Ben.

I think my parents called me Jane as a compromise. My Dad was going through a Russian literature phase and wanted to call me 'Anastasia' or something like that. Jane was a sensible alternative and it was also my grandmother's middle name. She was Elizabeth Jane, I'm Jane Elizabeth.

I've only really known one other Jane who I worked with in Dublin. She was known as "the hot Jane", good for her! I also know a few restauranteurs with my name, from work. They are wonderful and do the name proud.

I agreed to be part of this project because I liked the idea and it seemed fun. Plus a good excuse to do something different, get my make-up done and photograph taken.
