MY NAME IS JANE EVANS AND I AM THE FOUNDER AND CREATIVE DIRECTOR OF THE INVIZIBLES – A BRANDED CONTENT COMPANY IN LONDON.
I have been in advertising for over 30 years in both London and Australia. I helped Sydney win the Olympics, created James Squire beer and made everyone wish for Tim Tams whenever a genie came out of a bottle. I recently returned to London with my two teenage daughters to study screenwriting at the NFTS and move into branded entertainment.
I worked with Jane Caro when she was in advertising. One year, we won a host of awards, and for a little while, our agency was nicknamed "Jane Walter Thompson".
Today I have been writing an investment proposal for my new start-up 'Tea Break TV'. (And wondering if I'm mad to be starting again at my age)!
Best thing about being a Jane is everyone can spell it. Worst thing is when people ask, "Is that with a y?"
I have no idea why my parents decided to call me Jane, but I suspect in 1962 it was popular.
When I was a teenager I wanted to be a Zoé because it sounded so exotic, but now I'm happy to be a Jane.
I’m not plain Jane ... I’m Jane with a 'why not'.
