Raised in the Dandenong Ranges in Victoria, I am one of three girls. My career has spanned film, television, theatre and radio. I am also a painter. I love the ocean, champagne, books, colours and motherhood...certainly not in that order! My daughter, Lucia, was born in 2002.

Today I had a laugh on the radio this morning, did a pilates class and sent about a billion emails.

My parents decided to name me Jane because they wanted names that didn't date. I'm not so sure that 'Jane' is timeless, however! I'm so glad I was a girl as they had chosen 'Simon' for a boy.

Best thing about being a Jane is that people seem to always remember your name.

Worst thing is when people spell it with a 'y'.

I know four other very charismatic Janes in the media, and one Jane who is a vet.

I agreed to be part of this projectto celebrate all the Janes. We've been plain long enough.

I'm not plain Jane ...I'm myriad Janes.
