I am from the West of England but moved to London when I was 18. I am still here. Today I have been at work in London, but as I had the last three days working in the south of France I am not complaining!

When I was younger I fancied a more glamorous name like India, but now I love my name. I believe my mother preferred the name Jane to my father’s choice of Penelope, for which I’m very grateful.

I’m the only Jane at work in an office of 661 people, which is probably an age thing. I do know many other Janes though, including my oldest friend (1963), a close school friend (1966) and my sister-in-law (1976).

The worst thing about being a Jane is when people misspell it as Jayne or Jaine.

I agreed to part of this project because my daughter persuaded me – and I was intrigued. I unexpectedly loved having my photo taken after hair and makeup.

I’m not plain Jane... I’m Always-On-A-Diet-Hating-Getting-Older-But-Definitely-Glass-Half-Full-Jane.
